Airbus and Boeing –together at last

Finally, one site that pulls it all together – a web site that does searching for you and assembles materials into one place, with commentary, analysis, even op-eds to help put it in to perspective.

If you’re a journalist, historian, financier, analyst, aviation buff or investor, you’re likely to find some interesting reading, all brought together on this site. It’s intended to make your job easier with less searching. And there’s more to come. We’ve only gotten started in the process of researching and compiling materials that will prove valuable on what has contributed to the ongoing see-saw between Boeing and Airbus.

Leeham Companies, LLC thought it was time to construct a site that focused on the world’s two major aviation manufacturers – Airbus and Boeing – and provide easy access to key white papers, opinion pieces, aviation trade articles, news stories, commentaries, studies and more. From WTO issues to national subsidies, who’s bigger to who’s sold more airplanes, it’s a history worth digging into because history has a way of repeating itself.

As you continue to rely on this site for timely articles or in-depth historical, you can also count on current commentary on the industry from sage aviation journalist and publisher, Scott Hamilton. Never shy to call it as he sees it, visit us often to be kept up-to-date on the latest aviation scuttlebutt. And that’s not all he’s up to. Keep this sight on your weekly search schedule, and stay abreast of the latest on Airbus and Boeing.

Leeham was formed in 1999 by Scott Hamilton, following the sale of the company he co-founded, co-owned and co-managed, Linkraven Ltd. Linkraven published the internationally-distributed Commercial Aviation Report and Commercial Aviation Value Report; and organized conferences in Asia, Europe and the Americas under the Commercial Aviation Events banner.

Mr. Hamilton joined the airline management ranks in 1979. In 1989, he and a partner formed Linkraven in Britain. During the 10 years Mr. Hamilton and his partner owned and operated Linkraven, Commercial Aviation Report, Value Report and the Events became internationally recognized for their breaking news reporting and high-quality conferences. The influential publications regularly beat larger and more established magazines and newspapers with news about the airline industry. Mr. Hamilton is frequently called by broadcast and print media to offer expert analysis about the issues of the day. He is a regular contributing writer for Commercial Aviation Online (the successor to Commercial Aviation Report, which is now part of the Flight International family of publications) and Armed Forces Journal, a defense magazine.

Leeham Co. partners with Ernest Arvai of the Arvai Group and Addison Schonland of Innovation Analysis Group to undertake projects and special reports.

Mr. Hamilton has in the past and may at any time directly or indirectly invest in, or consult with cargo and/or passenger airlines, advisors, aircraft lessors, investment banks, manufacturers and/or other segments of commercial aviation, which until June 2009 included a long-term stock investment in The Boeing Co. Current and past clients have had or currently have business relationships with Airbus and Boeing and/or have ordered or may order Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier or Embraer aircraft. Accordingly, Client relationships have in the past and may in the future require coordination and/or cooperation with Airbus and/or Boeing to achieve Client objectives.

Leeham also provides Competitive Intelligence (CI) and Marketing services (the latter in partnership with Twelves Unlimited). CI has become increasingly important in today’s global economy and through economic ups and downs. Marketing, branding and imaging is more important today than ever before as competitors strive to distinguish themselves from each other.

  1. Thank you for this website. Just stumbled upon it. Retired Boeing rat (40 yrs), including working with Airbus, Airbus subs & partners, Northrop, 100 other aero subs. Part of ten new airplane teams (737, YC-14, B-2, 787, …). A great industry; made me wealthy, and never got bored!
    Don’t forget to laugh!
